Tessa closed her bathroom door and stripped out of her training clothes, tossing them into a nearby hamper with a sigh. Her mind raced with all she’s been doing since the Rogues were spotted a few days prior. As she took a seat on the cool edge of her large claw foot tub, she turned the knob, letting herself get lost in the waterfall that cascaded from her faucet. When the water began to rise, she gently placed a colorful bath bomb into the hot water, watching it fizzle into a satisfying rainbow which quickly disrupted the clear liquid.

Even though it had been a few days since the Rogue sighting, Tessa continued to worry for her pack’s safety. It was obvious they started scouting White Sand because they were practically defenseless during their transition, and being the neighboring Alpha, Tessa felt it was her responsibility to aide in protecting the new pack. “That and it’s our mates pack,” her wolf casually mentioned, but Tessa didn’t have the energy to argue with her. She’s been spending the last couple of nights running the grounds to make sure the warriors had everything they needed, and it was starting to take its toll.

As the water continued to rise, Tessa moved to stand in front of the mirror and saw just how dark and tired her eyes were. She wasted no time in pulling her long hair out of her ponytail, releasing a blissful sigh as her roots instantly relaxed from the tension. Working her hands over her scalp was such a satisfying feeling after a long day. Tessa headed back to the tub and turned off the faucet. She slowly submerged herself into the welcoming embrace of the hot water and the aroma from her bath bomb reminded her of Dainin. Just the thought of him made her heart race and when she rested her head back, she closed her eyes and pictured him. “He is so handsome,” her wolf spoke softly. They were barely able to see each other over the last few days and Tessa had to admit, she missed him just as much as her wolf did.

Tessa’s mind drifted to when she tracked Dainin down on the White Sand territory. After the Rogues took off, she and the group decided to split up to make sure they didn’t try to circle back on them. Tessa followed the scent as far as she could, but found they were heading in the direction of the human town and Zander said there was no sign of them near the other borders. Tessa immediately mind linked Cadence to inform the other Alphas of what transpired here. Strangely, since that day, no one has encountered any Rogues, but the Alpha’s heeded her warning and planned to stay alert. “Maybe they were just curious wanderers who were being cautious,” her wolf said, trying to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but Tessa couldn’t fully agree. Something wasn’t sitting right with her.

Dainin’s pack arrived the day after the Rogue incident and he immediately became consumed with the task of getting everyone settled into their new home. When she and Cadence observed the pack from a distance, Tessa had only caught a glimpse of him, but during their “spy mission, as Zander called it, they discovered Dainin was a kind and fair Alpha who was adored by his people. Tessa admired the way he respected her feelings and kept the news of finding his mate a secret. Although Tessa had to keep her wolf in check each time a young, she wolf flaunted themselves in front of him like a piece of meat. “He’s ours,” she stated coldly, and a slight pang of jealousy surged through her chest, an emotion she’s never felt before. “I’m not sure I like this,” Tessa complained as she rubbed her chest before submerging her head under the soapy water.

She stayed like that for a minute to enjoy the peaceful silence, but when she emerged, she heard someone knocking loudly on her bedroom door. “That’s strange,” she thought, stepping out of the tub to wrap her bathrobe around herself. “I’m coming,” she called out, carelessly drying her hair with a towel, but when she reached for the doorknob she froze. Her wolf was going ballistic with joy in her mind, which could only mean one thing.

As she slowly opened the door, she smelled him before she saw him. From the floor, Tessa’s eyes ran slowly over his long bare legs, over the basketball shorts that hung dangerously low on his hips, then stopped when his unbelievably toned abs and chest filled her view. She released a deep growl of satisfaction as she looked up to his face. Her palm itched, wanting to run over the rough texture of his five o’clock shadow. She had to admit Dainin was godlike with the way he stood before her. His one arm held the door frame above her as his other shoulder leaned against the side, making her feel small and powerless to his charm. “I kind of like it,” her wolf sighed.

When Tessa finally looked to his eyes, she saw his usual chocolate brown color was dark with need as his gaze locked onto her mouth. It was only when they traveled lower, he noticed she was only in a robe. A possessive growl resonated from his chest as he brought his arm down, snaking it around her waist to pull her body into his. He moved them both into the bedroom shutting the door behind him.

In seconds, Tessa found her back pressed up against the hard wood of the door with Dainin’s large body pressed against hers. His breath fanned the skin in the crook of her neck, making her shiver, but it was the heat she felt coming off his bare thigh as it was pressed between her legs, that held her attention. “Oh, my Goddess! This man will be the death of us,” her wolf howled in excitement. Tessa felt like her chest was about to explode when his hand around her waist traveled down her back to caress her ass through the soft fabric. “Dainin,” she called breathlessly, placing her palms against his bare chest. Tessa instantly felt the sparks from their bond rush down her arms.

Dainin growled, giving her firm ass a squeeze, sending a jolt of excitement through her body. Tessa could feel the blush forming on her cheeks when pressed his leg farther between her thighs, almost exposing her lower half. When his other hand began exploring her curves, concealed within the robe, Tessa yearned for it to be her skin he was touching. He smirked, placing a soft kiss behind her ear, humming out his satisfaction as he rested his forehead against hers.“Mmm, I missed you too,” he bellowed and the sound of his voice sent a delightful shiver down her spine. Tessa moved her arms around his neck, pulling him impossibly closer, needing him closer as she closed her eyes and inhaled his sweet scent. “Honestly, I really have missed you and it’s only been a few days,” she admitted, enjoying the feeling of his arms wrapping sweetly around her waist. “Well I’m here now,” he spoke in a soft hum.

Tessa placed a soft kiss on Dainin’s lips which grew into a sensual rhythm, each wanting to savor this moment together. When Dainin’s tongue swept over her lip asking for entrance, she granted it, earning a growl of approval as their tongues danced together. Dainin pulled Tessa closer, causing her to lose balance and wrap her legs around his waist. He smiled against the kiss as he pressed her back against the door supporting her weight and Tessa could feel his hard member pressing against her core through his shorts. She moaned at the contact and couldn’t stop herself from grinding against it as her hands ran freely through his hair.

Dainin groaned against her lips as she felt his hand move behind her neck tangling into her hair with a soft pull. Tessa moaned out as she pulled his lip between her teeth breaking their kiss as the sound of their heavy breathing filled the room. Tessa felt the shoulder of her robe slip down exposing her skin and Dainin’s dark eyes followed the fabric. He leaned his head down, leaving delicate kisses from her collar bone, over her shoulder and finally to the soft skin of her breast. Tessa slowly nodded her approval when Dainin looked to her as if asking permission to go further. She was already anticipating the pleasure his touch would bring her.

Dainin pulled her body closer to him moving her to the bed in the center of the room. He laid her gently on the down comforter placing himself between her legs. “You are so beautiful,” he whispered, his words warming her body as his eyes shone with love as he took in every inch of her.

Tessa felt his fingertips run lightly over the delicate skin of her inner thigh, traveling over her hip bone until it reached the loosened tie of her robe. She saw his face etch with worry, but before he could ruin the moment she spoke. “I want you,” she declared, internally laughing to herself as his worried expression turned to shock. “Are you sure,” he asked, which only reinforced her decision, as any other Alpha male would jump right into mating. She smiled and nodded. “Yes, I’m sure,” Tessa said, watching Dainin rise to his feet to strip out of his shorts and boxers. Now it was Tessa’s turn to be shocked at seeing his impressive length on display in front of her.

Taking in her mates perfectly sculpted form, Tessa couldn’t help but lick her lips at the sight of his perfection. Before she could act, Dainin positioned himself just above her entrance, wrapping her legs around his waist. The tip of his erection ran between her wet center, causing Tessa to whimper with anticipation. When she noticed Dainin sporting a cocky grin, Tessa rolled her eyes before smiling to herself.
