Nicholai POV

I drove out of New York without a definite destination. I thought had everything I wanted but right now I feel nothing matters. I was lost in the sea of emotions. I love her. I wanted her.

I stopped in the middle of nowhere. I had been driving nonstop for 4 hours. It was already dark. No cars was passing by. I got out my car and stare at the dark sky. Nothing was visible.

I stood there for a few moment when rain started to fall. I stay under the rain soaking wet while I let go of all my emotions, all my hatred, all my doubts, everything.

I love you so much Amanda. You meant the world to me...

I still do. And it hurt me so badly that you have to go...

I got inside my car and saw Jake was calling me. I plan to ignore it but after contemplating I answered him.

"What the fuck did you do to her?" Jake shouted before I can even greet him.

"What are you talking about?" I asked confused.

"Don't pretend you don't know. Cassie is here and she won't stop crying. What the hell did you do?"

"I told her the truth about Amanda. That I killed her. I fucked up."

"Get your ass back here and fix it. Where the hell are you?" He yelled at me.

"Life sucks, Jake, I just don't know what to do." I admitted.

"Tell me where you are, bro. I'll go and get you."

"I just need to be alone for now. Tell Cassie that we'll talk once I get my mind straight. Tell her I'm sorry." I turned off my phone and started driving again.

I stayed at an inn that I passed by for the night. I got a bottle of whiskey and drink. I tried to think of the things that happened. Images of Amanda and me keep flashing back.

12 years ago...

Nicholai saw her trying to push over a guy that was trying to kiss him. He planned to ignore it but then she saw her crying and screaming for help. He came to her rescue. He throw the first punch and the guy stumble down. It didn't end up well for him though he was beaten up. Luckily Jake and Cole came to rescue. He tried to find her after they helped him up but she was gone. So much for the mystery girl.

The bell rang and they all started going to class. They walked lazily to there literature class. He hated that class since it was boring. Then things became interesting when he saw her.

"Class settle down." Mrs. Austin said. "We have a new student. Please introduce yourself, dear."

"Hello, I'm Amanda Clarkson. I'm from Texas. I'm 16 years old."

"Hot and smart." Jake winked at her. "I love you already."

Everyone laughed at his comment. Back then Jake, Cole and Nicholai were already players. They hook up with every girl they fell for. Jake stood up and pulled a chair for her beside him. But she ignored him and took a seat next to Nicholai.

"Hi, thank you for saving me earlier."

"That was nothing. I'm Nicholai."

"I'm Jake, babe." Jake moved his seat next to her.

"Boys, please don't scare off Ms. Clarkson. Anyone who would like to show your new classmate around campus?" Mrs. Austin inquired.

"I'll do it." Jake volunteered and saw Nicholai glare at him. "I mean Nicholai, Cole and me can show Ms. Clarkson around."

Amanda agreed and the three showed him around. She was new at school and she felt out of place. She was very intelligent she was already a sophamore in college at a young age.

She eventually got along with the three boys. Every girl in her class envy her for having the three boys spend time with her. She just told them that they saw her as a little sister nothing more. Until...

"Amanda, I love you." Nicholai declared while they were studying at his apartment 5 months later.

"I love you too, brother." She smiled.

"No you don't understand." He held her face and stare at her eyes. "I am in love with you. I want you to be my girl friend. Amanda."

"Nicholai, stop saying that." She stood up and moved away from him. "It's not funny."

"I'm serious. I am in love with you. Amanda I have been trying not to fall for you but I can't do it anymore."

"Are you trying to play a joke on me because if you are it's not funny." Her tears started falling and Nicholai embrace her.

"I love you."

Nicholai captured her lips and everything was forgotten. Amanda and Nicholai became the perfect couple. He introduce her to his family and they welcomed her with open arms. They fell madly in love with each other and Nicholai let Amanda move in with him. She didn't hesitate. She didn't care. She was young, beautiful and crazy in love with him.

Eventually her parents found out that she was living with Nicholai and was against it. They took Amanda away from him but that did not stop them from seeing each other.

Once she turned 18 they made a plan to elope and get married in Las Vegas. The plan was perfect but it didn't work. Amanda's older brother caught her and they lock her up. She got sick since she refused to drink nor eat. When Nicholai learned this he immediately went to her home.Michael,her brother, beat him up but he never fought back. He begged to see her.

"Please, just let me see her."

"You can't. You poisoned her mind and now she wont listen to us anymore." Michael said angrily.

"Please, she needs me. I'll just talk to her." He knelt down begging.

"What did you do, Michael?" His mom saw the state Nicholai was in.

"Please, I beg you. I know you hate our family for something that my grandfather did but I have nothing to do with it. I love Amanda."

"Get up." Amanda's father stated. "Let's talk inside." Once inside the villa. "What do you want to prove showing up here?"

"That I love your daughter and I will take any punishment to be with her."

"So are you saying that you are willing to die for her?" Her mom ask.

"If that's the punishment that I get for loving her then I would." Nicholai stated firmly.

"I will let you see her just this once." Her father said. "I will give you 15 minutes to talk to her after that you leave. Understand." Nicholai nodded in response.

"Mom, dad. Are you guys falling for this jerks words?" Micheal hissed.

"No, Micheal. But your sister needs to see him. The doctor said she can die if she continue her depression." His dad stated. "We have no choice."

The moment Nicholai saw Amanda her heart ached. She was so pale and thin, dark circles evident on her eyes. He didn't stop his tears from falling as he kissed her forehead.

"Love, what have you done?"

"Nicky?" Amanda can't believe he was there. "You came." She said crying.

"Of coure, love. You need to get better. Why are you doing this?"

"What happened to your face?" She tried to held his face but was to weak to raise her hands.

"I'm okay." He kissed her lips. "Promise me you'll get better. That you will take good care of yourself. I love you. And it breaks my heart to see you this way."

"I love you too." She said tiredly. "Stay with me." She said before closing her eyes to sleep.

Nicholai had no choice but to leave after that. Amanda's parents saw how dedicated Nicholai was to their daughter. Amanda slowly got better. They were not allowed to speak with each other but every single day he showed up morning and evening to wave at Amanda and shout to her "i love you."

Amanda recovered but refused to talk with her family. She loved Nicholai so much that she chose him over her own family. She runaway and went to Nicholai's ancestral house.

"What are you doing here?" Adrianna was so shocked to see her.

"I have to see him, Adrianna. It has been weeks since I last talked to him."

"Okay." While waiting for Nicholai."Does your parents know you're here?"

"No." She said crying. "They wont let me talk with him. I overheard them they plan to take me to England to a boarding school there. I don't want to go. I can't go."

"Did you talk to them?" She asked.

"Love, what are you doing here." Nicholai hurriedly run to her and kissed her.

"I'll leave you two to talk." Adrianna said. "Just remember to always do what you believe is right, Nicky."

"Love, what are you doing here?" Nicholai ask once they were alone.

"They plan to take me to England, Nicky. I don't want to go. I want to be with you. Lets leave and get married."

"That would have been the best idea we got before but we can't do that now. I want your family to approve of our relationship. I want them to accept us. I love you so much, Amanda and I can't let you choose me over your family."

"Did you met someone else? Are you breaking up with me."

"No, but you need to go home. Will talk to your parents. I'll explain to them." Nicholai embrace her.

"At least let me stay the night then."

That night they made love and let each other feel the passion they felt for each other. The next day Nicholai brought her back to their villa. After everything was said, Amanda's family accepted their relationship. They saw that Nicholai's intention towards Amanda was good. They made plan about their future together. They promised to graduate before starting their own family together. Everything was doing fine as planned. Until they found out two month later that she was pregnant. Everyone was so excited they planned the grand wedding to take place in a month. Then the night of the tragic accident came.

"Nicky, what are you doing here? Mom says it's tradition that you can't see me the night before the wedding."

"Screw tradition, love. I have something to show you. Lets go."

"Where are you taking me?" Amanda asked excitedly as they drove away from the villa.

"Its a surprise."

Nicholai brought her their lake house where a romantic dinner was set up. Amanda can't hold back her tears when Nicholai went down to her knees.

"I know we are getting married tomorrow but I want to this the right way. Amanda Clarkson, I love you. Would you do the honor of being my wife for the rest of our lives."

"You know you don't have to ask. I would marry anywhere anytime." She said crying. "I will always love you."

They ate dinner after they lay down the boat on the lake staring at the dark sky. A perfect starry romantic night.

"I love you, Nicky. No matter what happens I will always love you."

"And I swear that I will love you forever. I'll always be here to protect you and our baby. I would love you both with all my life and soul."

"Just promise me that you wont replace me when I get fat and old. When I'm not the young girl you feel in love with."

"Love, you will always be beautiful in my eyes. And I promise you there will never be any girl that can replace you in my heart. Because you are my heart, my love and I'm yours."

"You are mine, Nicholai Alexander Frankford. And I am yours."

"That's right."

It started raining and they hurriedly got inside the car. Amanda insisted that they wait for the rain to stop but Nicholai was stubborn. He drove through the heavy rain of the dark night. The road was slippery then suddenly a truck came out of nowhere crushing them. Nicholai saw Amanda trying hard to breath while bleeding to death before he passed out...

Nicholai was in coma for 3 months due to the accident. Everyone accepted that Amanda's death was not Nicholai's fault, that it was an accident, except for Micheal. He blamed Nicholai and planned to kill him.

Nicholai blamed himself for Amanda and their baby's death. He become a different person. Gone was the happy go lucky Nicholai. He become sad and depress. He was always drunk and involve in fights. His friends and family never gave up on him.

On Amanda's death anniversary things changed for Nicholai. Micheal tried to kill him. He got shot on the shoulder after Micheal showered gun shots on the cementry. He ended up killing 11 innocent people. So he was sent to prison. For Nicholai, he realized the value of his life and tried to live again. He started to get back on his feet and succeeded. He worked hard and played hard but never once did he let any woman replace her Amanda in his life, in his heart. Well, not until he met Cassie, he let her invade his life and crawl inside his heart.
