Mr. Holt, You Are My Ineffable Love

Cassie POV

I opened my eyes slowly as I felt someone embracing me. I smiled upon seeing him sleeping next to me. He looked so peaceful and so handsome. I touched his cheeks and let my fingers trail down his jaw. Then I notice that it was already bright outside. I immediately tried to get up but his strong arms kept me in place.

"Nicholai, let go." I stuggled to get up.

Oh wow, so this is how heaven feels like...

"Good morning, angel." He opened his eyes and smiled at me.

"Let me go. I need to get ready for work." I was pushing his arms away from me, I really need to go to work as much as I love to stay in his embrace.

"Angel, you are not going anywhere." He pinned me down and settle on top of me. "You wanted me to stay just so you can leave me this morning. And besides, is this your way of greeting me good morning."

"Nicholai, please. Get off me. Your heavy."

He started kissing my neck and unbuttoning my pajama top. I can feel his erection pressed against my leg.

What a way to start my day!

"Nicholai, please." I pushed his face away from my body. "Get off me."

"Fine." He got off me and sat on the edge of the bed. "I'll go. You don't have to push me away."

He was obviously hurt with what I did. He was putting on his pants when I wrapped my arm around his waist. He removed my hands around him and stood up.

"Hey, are you mad? I'm not pushing you away. I just need to go to work."

"I'm pissed!" He looked at me anger was written all over his face.

"I'm sorry." I stood up and hug him.

"No, I'm sorry. I should go. I was just hoping we can be together today and talk about us. I guess there's nothing to talk about. Was last night just a spur of the moment, yes?"

"Nicholai, of course not. I meant it."

"Really? Cause you're pushing me away. And it felt like you regret seeing me this morning." He look so defeated and hurt.

"I'm sorry. It's just that I always go to work at 8:00. I'm never late."

"Okay, angel. If you say so." He smiled at me lazily unconvinced.

"I'll call in sick for work and we can stay here all day. We can do whatever you like." I said seductively.

"Really?" I nodded. "Make your call then." He embrace me.

"I'll call later. No one is in the office yet at this time."

I took a shower while Nicholai called to cancel his appointments for the day. Once I'm done he took a shower while I prepared breakfast.

"So, what do you have in mind?" He asked while eating breakfast.

"About what?"

"Last night, you said you have conditions with our set up."

"Oh, yes. I don't want anyone knowing about our set up. Especially our friends. We can't tell them."

Cause Gabby and Matt would kill me once they find out I'm in a very crazy affair with the man I like.

"Okay, what else?"

"We can't be seen in public together."

"That's ridiculous. What if I want you to accompany me on events."

"People around us might speculate ideas about us."

And I don't want just speculations.

"And it's a bad thing?" He asked.

"Not really but it can complicate things." I reasoned out.

"Okay, angel. Is that all?"

"I don't have anything else in mind. I'll let you know if something come up. How about you? Any request."

"You naked in my bed tonight." He said seductively.

"That's not what I meant. Pervert."

"I know. I'm just teasing you." He looked at me seriously then said, "You will tell me if you want out. The moment you have doubts or second thoughts about our set up you tell me. I promise you I won't force you into anything you don't want."

"I believe you."

I'll believe anything you want me to. But why can't we just have a real relationship?

The day went great. After breakfast we went to his apartment he showed me around his house. We ended up having sex on his sofa, the kitchen floor, kitchen counter. And now we were in his bed naked while I was eating ice cream and he smiling at me like an idiot. It was already 6pm.

"What are you smiling at?" He looked at me and smiled as well. "You just look so beautiful."

"Thanks. You want some." I put a spoon of ice cream in front his mouth.

"Nope. I hate ice cream."

"Really? Why do you have it on your fridge then?"

"Jake and Gabby bought it last week. They forgot to take it with them when they left."

"I see. Well I guess I should get going. I have to be at work early tomorrow. I have things to do."

"Alright. Get dress then. I'll drive you back to your apartment, angel."

"You don't have to do that. I'll be fine. I'll take a cab." I said as we were both getting dressed.

"I brought you here. And it's onlt proper that I drive you back to your place. I have to make sure that you get home safe. That my angel is alright."

"That's really sweet of you, darling but I'll be fine. I don't think that you will be leaving my apartment once we get there. I mean I might ask you to stay and I don't want to act all clingy and desperate. Which is probably what you think I am.."

He kissed me to stop me from ranting. I was so carried away that instead of getting dressed we ended up making out on his bed.

"Please stay." Nicholai embrace me. "I promise, I'll drive you back home early morning so you can go to work. I don't want you out my side tonight."

"Alright, I give up. I'll stay.."

It was crazy I felt perfect with him by my side. As promised early morning he drove me home and I almost beg him to stay when he said goodbye. But I stopped myself and reminded myself what we both agreed on.

I'll have to play my cards well, he was an expert I'm merely a beginner.
