Nicholai POV

I had to give her break. I mean I promised not to force her to anything. I guess meeting my family was too much for her to handle.

I was laying on bed in my old room at the mansion when my I noticed the pictures displayed on my wall. It was pictures of me and Amanda for our wedding pictorial. I studied our pictures and I felt guilty. For the past months, she has never cross my mind. I was too busy with my angel that I forgot about my love.

I need this. I need to think. I need to let go. I need to make sure of my feeling for her. And I hope that she would do the same.

Days past and most of my relatives had arrived to the ranch. I was trying my best to enjoy it. But my mind kept drifting back to Amanda and Cassie. I was torn, I love Amanda but with Cassie I'm confused I don't know what I was feeling for her.

My friends had some emergency so they got to Texas the day of the party instead of two days before as planned. I pick them at the airport and I was unable to hide my disappointment when I didn't see her, my angel.

"Hey, cowboy. Your looking hot." Matt said. "Thanks for inviting me."

"Sure thing, bro. So how's Cassie?"

"Just call her and tell her to take the next flight here. You obviously miss her." Cole said teasingly.

"Better yet get your stupid ass back in New York and fetch my best friend who has been dying to see you." Gabby stated.

"Gabby, I miss her as much as she does, believe me. But I don't want to force her to be here with me. If she wants to be with me I want her to decide for herself."

"You two are the most stubborn person I've known. Cassie is waiting for you get her. She's a girl. She wouldn't just show up here unannounced."

"Drop it, Gabby. Let's just head to the ranch so you can meet my family."

I introduce Matt, Roxy and Gabby to everyone. The party went great for my grandma. We all shared crazy stories about my childhood since I grew up with my grandparents. I get to see some ladies I had fling with before. Some were even seducing me for a one night stand. But I wasn't interested I'm a changed person. I have Cassandra now.

The next day we all went horse back riding. I showed them around the ranch. It was almost 3:00 pm when we decided to head back the mansion.

"Wow, you have every large land." Roxy said while taking pictures.

"Yes, and this place is paradise." Matt declared. "Too bad Cassie's not here."

"True, she always dreamt of seeing a ranch and also has this crazy idea of living in a place like this." Gabby said.

"Well, there will always be an opportunity for her to see this. I mean we can go here anytime she likes." I said.

"That's great but I think we should head back. Looks like its going to rain any minute now." Jake said.

We hurriedly ride back to the mansions direction. We were half way back when rain started falling but instead of stopping we continue to head for the mansion since if we try to look for a place to wait for the rain to stop will still be soaking wet.

As we got closer to the mansion gate I saw a very familiar figure soak in the rain. At first I thought my eyes were deceiving me. But as I got closer I saw my angel. She was wearing a spaghetti strap blouse and a denim shorts with sneakers. And carrying a backpack.

She saw me and run towards my direction. I immediately went down my horse and hugged her. She captured my lips and I kissed her back hungrily. We were both lost at the moment until we heard our friends yelling at us. And so we headed inside the mansion.

"When did you get here?" I asked as we walk inside the mansion.

"I was here in front your gate since quarter to two. The guards wont let me in. They told me that you guys left. And they just let strangers in." She was shivering.

"Let's talk later. Let's all change first."

She's here... my angel came.

Cassie POV

I felt sad when Nicholai left me to the room I will be staying. It was odd we have been sharing a room for months and now that we are at his ancestral mansion he wanted me to stay in a different room.

After an hour. We were all at the main hall of the mansion. I was very nervous to meet Nicholai's family. We were seated at the sofa.

"Relax, angel." Nicholai whispered.

"Where are the others?"

"At there rooms resting. I'll introduce you to my family. They told me to wait for them here."

"I look like shit." I stood up. "What will they say when they see me looking like this." I was wearing one of Nicholai shirt and Gabby's shorts since all my things got soaked.

"That you are beautiful." He pulled me down his lap and kiss my cheeks. "That you make me happy and you..." His lips trail down my neck.

"Should we come back later." A beautiful woman walk in the hall. "You two look busy." I stumble off Nicholai's lap and she laughed.

"Yes, Adriana please leave. You're interrupting us." He stood up and wrap his hands around me.

"Nicholai." I shrieked and elbowed him so he let go.

"Angel, seriously." He pouted.

"Hi, sweetie. I'm Adriana." She hugged me and smiled sweetly. "I'm Nicky's older sister."

"Hi, please to meet you. Cassandra Nicole, Cassie. My friends calls me Cassie." I said panicking.

"Breathe, angel." He place his arms around my waist. "Mom, dad, granny this Cassie my friend."

"Please to meet you dear." His dad shook my hands. "Call me, Nicholas."

"Oh sweetie. At last I get to meet you. I'm Samantha." She hugged me tightly. "Nicky, I can't believe you been hiding her from us."

"Seriously mom, guys. Chill. And stop calling me Nicky it's Nicholai."

"Please to meet you all." I smiled and approach his grandmother. "Happy birthday ma'am."

"Amanda?" She stare at me.

"Granny. She's Cassandra." Nicholai said. "Not Amanda."

"Oh, you only bring Amanda here. Sorry dear." She smiled at me.

"Who's Amanda?"I asked intrigue.

"Let's not talk about her, sweetie. Where has Nicky been hiding you? Its been years since he last introduce his girlfriend to us."

"We're just friends." I said blushing.

"Really? Then my son probably lost his touch then." We all laughed at his dad's comment.

Things went well but Nicholai was acting strange. We had dinner with everyone and he was not talking much. He stops his grandma everytime she try to say stories about Amanda. Adrianna took the hint that Nicholai was uncomfortable and ask the nurse to take her grandma to her room to eat. Adrianna called me and Nicholai to the living room after everyone headed to their rooms.

"So, how long have you two been together?" She was staring at us.

"A few months." Nicholai answered.

"That's nice. So what's the score between you and Francesca then."

"Well, the merger will take place next month after that she will admit to the press that we don't have anything." Nicholai explained.

"Good. So how did the two of you meet?" She smiled at me. "Come on."

"We met a few years ago. I worked at one of his bars in New York." I said.

"Okay so you mean to say you knew each other for years now. And my brother only had the balls to court you recently." She concluded.

"No. She was gone for three years. And Adrianna,stop being the nosey sister. It's annoying." Nicholai stated

"Fine. If you got any question sweetie about anything feel free to ask now cause I'll be leaving early tomorrow. I'm going home to my husband."

"Well, who's Amanda. I've been hearing her name a lot from your grandma."

"She's was Nicholai's..."

"She's not somebody we can talk about."Nicholai said cutting of Adrianna's statement.

"Alright, whatever you say. Good night then I'll head to my room."

We also headed to my room. Once we were inside I just have to ask him about Amanda. It would drive me insane if I don't ask.

"Nicholai, who's Amanda?"

"Angel, drop it. I don't want to talk about her." He wrap his arms around my waist.

"Why not? You've been acting strange since you heard your grandma mentioned her. Tell me who she is please Nicholai because it's driving me insane not knowing."

"Angel, please. I don't want to talk about her. She is in the past. I missed you." He kissed me and I gave in.

"Okay. But promise once you're ready you'll tell me about her."

"I promise."

We kissed passionately and after that he walked out my room. I wanted to run after him and demand him to make love to me. For the past days I wasn't with him I realized one thing I love him. That life without him is hell. And I'll do anything to make him love me. I don't care anymore. But he needed to space and I wont ask him about Amanda anymore if it upset him.
